Thank you for your courteous service, but unfortunately, I cannot say it was worth the high guide fee of 8,000 yen (including the overtime charge). First of all, the guide spent more time chatting than providing a tour, which made the tour disjointed; on top of that, we went over the scheduled time, which affected the rest of our itinerary. If a guide cannot manage their schedule or lacks a professional attitude, the fee should be kept to about the cost of transportation. Incidentally, at Ise Grand Shrine, you can get a guided tour of both the Inner Shrine and the Outer Shrine over two days for just 1,000 yen, and the quality of the tour is much higher. It was especially disappointing this time because I had such high expectations.
