I think it was the guide's skill and thoughtfulness that allowed us to take our time and not feel rushed, even though there was so much to see. Thanks to the explanation of the Kojiki, I was able to understand more than just looking around. I don't think I could have visited Susa Shrine and Himigozaki Shrine by myself. Thanks to the experienced driver, we were able to move around without any worries. The tour was very satisfactory with free time and time to receive red seals. I was worried about whether my elderly mother would be able to keep up with the tour, but I am glad I took the plunge and joined the tour. I recommend this tour especially for those who are traveling to Izumo for the first time!

I'm glad I was able to enjoy Izumo Kagura. The explanation was easy to understand. It was also nice to see a young boy participating in the Kagura and inheriting the tradition.

I participated in the guided tour on the morning of February 23. It was very pleasant to visit and walk around Izumo-taisha Shrine in the clear morning air. Our guide, Mr. Wada, was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He explained about Izumo's specialties, geographical features, the etiquette of visiting Izumo-taisha Shrine, and mythological episodes from the Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters). He also talked about the actual Grand Shrine Transition and how the old main shrine was 48 meters high. There was so much to talk about that the time flew by. I was amazed to hear that the main hall has an 8-meter-high Senki (a kind of wooden plank) and the biggest Hinomaru flag in Japan is as big as 75 tatami mats. Everything was so big that I lost all sense of it. I was lucky enough to see the Shinto priests performing a Shinto ritual during the Tenchobetsu Festival. Above all, I think I felt happy because I could feel Mr. Wada's love for Izumo-taisha Shrine. We hit it off so well that we even took pictures together with the other tour participants. It was a good match, I guess, of the Izumo-taisha Shrine's knot. Thank you very much.

I wanted to visit the Izumo-taisha Shrine and also the Susa Shrine, so I searched for this tour. I thought that the tour fee was 8,000 yen per person... but I joined the tour and thought that the price was reasonable! The explanations were very detailed and easy to understand with pictures and explanations. It was different from just going to visit the shrine. I learned a lot and was able to visit the shrine with my imagination. I also appreciated the driver's attention to detail. I thought that I had soiled the inside of the car with sand in the morning, but in the afternoon it was completely clean and I was able to spend a pleasant time. Thank you very much.

I was very lucky to join this tour on my first visit to Izumo Taisha! I was in group 2, and the tour guide was wonderful! After hearing about the history, background, etc., I was able to see the buildings and scenery in front of me, which gave me a much greater sense of depth.

It was a very meaningful experience, as I learned new things about every corner of Izumo-taisha Shrine through detailed explanations. Although unavoidable due to the season, it was quite cold in the shade when we were being briefed inside the Hachishimon Gate, and we would appreciate an improvement.

The tour was very meaningful as it explained in detail about Izumo-taisha Shrine, how to visit the shrine, mythology, etc. However, my main purpose of attending the tour was to get a closer look at the main shrine. However, my main purpose of participating in the tour was to see the main shrine up close, so I was a little disappointed that I could only see it through the gate. Since the condition for participating in the tour was to stay overnight in Izumo City, we stayed at Family Lodge Ryoroya (without dinner), but most of the stores in the area were closed in the evening, so we finally found NAMI and had dinner there. The next day, we visited the shrine again to review the tour and went to Inasa-no-hama, so the stay itself was good, but it would have been inconvenient to stay there without a restaurant where we could eat even at night. There are ryokans that include meals, but inbound travelers tend to stay with no meals, and I think there are many Japanese who want to stay in Izumo simply because they want to relax at the Tamatsukuri Onsen hot springs the next day.
