We were able to efficiently visit Izumo-taisha and other shrines that are difficult to visit individually. The free time set aside at Izumo-taisha was just right, and after lunch of Izumo soba noodles, we enjoyed shopping from Izumo-taisha-mae station to the Otorii gate of Seitame, the meeting place. The guide was very attentive, and we were able to enjoy more in-depth sightseeing at individual spots!

It was my first trip to Izumo and I participated in the Izumo Taisha morning mairi tour! It was a small group tour, so it was easy to listen to what they had to say. I learned a lot from the tour and the stories were easy to understand. The tour was held early in the morning, so there were only a few visitors, so I was very impressed with the relaxed atmosphere. It was a pity that there was no plan that included breakfast.

It was my first trip to Izumo in 5 years, and it was a great decision to choose the excursion bus! I really enjoyed the tour because it covered places that are not accessible by public transportation. If possible, I would like to see a beginner course, intermediate course, advanced course, etc., so that I can enjoy the tour more each time I visit. I attended course B with my mother. The car was a microbus with a capacity of about 20 people, and I think it was full. In the car, we enjoyed listening to the guide's interesting story about the Nihon Shoki (the Chronicles of Japan). Also, the driver was a mild-mannered and gentle person. On the day of the tour, the wind was a bit strong, but the weather was fine and we could see the beautiful sea at Inasa-no-hama. The driver was a guide outside the car, but the tour moved so fast that his mother, who has a limp, could not keep up with him, so they had to go their separate ways. This tour was not suitable for a person who has difficulty walking. I think it was a little after 17:00 when we arrived at Izumo City Station. It was a good tour to collect red seals at shrines related to the Chronicles of Japan.

I participated in the guided tour on the morning of February 23. It was very pleasant to visit and walk around Izumo-taisha Shrine in the clear morning air. Our guide, Mr. Wada, was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He explained about Izumo's specialties, geographical features, the etiquette of visiting Izumo-taisha Shrine, and mythological episodes from the Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters). He also talked about the actual Grand Shrine Transition and how the old main shrine was 48 meters high. There was so much to talk about that the time flew by. I was amazed to hear that the main hall has an 8-meter-high Senki (a kind of wooden plank) and the biggest Hinomaru flag in Japan is as big as 75 tatami mats. Everything was so big that I lost all sense of it. I was lucky enough to see the Shinto priests performing a Shinto ritual during the Tenchobetsu Festival. Above all, I think I felt happy because I could feel Mr. Wada's love for Izumo-taisha Shrine. We hit it off so well that we even took pictures together with the other tour participants. It was a good match, I guess, of the Izumo-taisha Shrine's knot. Thank you very much.

The world of mythology and Izumo Taisha Shrine is quite profound, but it was something I wanted to know, and it was very informative to hear the guide's stories. It was also very pleasant to visit the shrine in the clear early morning air, and we were able to take our time and avoid the crowds.

I wanted to visit the Izumo-taisha Shrine and also the Susa Shrine, so I searched for this tour. I thought that the tour fee was 8,000 yen per person... but I joined the tour and thought that the price was reasonable! The explanations were very detailed and easy to understand with pictures and explanations. It was different from just going to visit the shrine. I learned a lot and was able to visit the shrine with my imagination. I also appreciated the driver's attention to detail. I thought that I had soiled the inside of the car with sand in the morning, but in the afternoon it was completely clean and I was able to spend a pleasant time. Thank you very much.
